Orchid Bay

Orchid Bay, originally known as Captains Creek, is located in Palm City, Martin County on SW Mapp Road, south of Martin Downs Blvd. Nestled between Pipers Landing, Four Rivers and River Landing, it is a community of 156 unique one and two story single family homes each on approximately 1/2+ acre lots.

Gated at both the front and rear, 11 of our homes are located outside the common grounds along Robys Way. The main entrance welcomes residents and guests with an old Florida style gazebo flanked by twin lakes complete with fountains. A center island with mature canary date palms finish the manicured affluent look.

This diverse community, made up of all age groups, boasts 4 lakes stocked with fish, 2 tennis courts, a playground for youngsters, sand volleyball court, canoe/kayak launch and another gazebo in the 3+ acre recreation area for community events with ample parking. 

Both the elementary and middle schools are located within 2.5 miles of the community. Palm City boasts 4 parks offering many sports and boat ramp access. Public and private golf courses are available county wide and fishermen have their pick of marinas with charter boats and private dockage.

Shopping areas are located in two town centers with the Post Office and Fire/Rescue Department within 1 mile and 2 hospitals just over the bridge in Stuart. Witham Field Airport and West Palm Beach International make air travel convenient.

Quarterly association fees take care of all common grounds and roadways, fountains lakes and recreation areas. Each owner is responsible for the maintenance of their lot and residence. Palm City


Palm City is a small town in Martin County, Florida. Known for its excellent schools, Palm City is primarily a residential community, on the west side of Stuart Florida stretching from the St Lucie River west to I95.

Like the rest of Martin County, Palm City was a very small community and virtually unknown until the area began to see tremendous growth in 2000. But the growth is relative as the area is still very sparsely populated when compared with Palm Beach County to the South and St Lucie County to the North.

 

Palm City Schools

The schools in Martin County Florida and Palm City in particular are excellent. Almost every school in Palm City is an A rated school.

 

Palm City Elementary

Palm City elementary is the elementary school for Orchid Bay and is consistently rated A. The school is about 2 miles from the entrance to Orchid Bay.

Hidden Oaks Middle School

Hidden Oaks Middle School is the middle school for Orchid Bay and is about 2.5 miles from Orchid Bay. It is an A rated school.

High Schools

Martin County has three high schools including Martin County High, Jensen Beach High, and South Fork. Martin County High is the default school for Orchid Bay and is about 4 miles from the community. Students can choose to attend Jensen Beach High and in some cases students in special programs can attend South Fork.

Sports and Recreation

Adjacent to the St Lucie River and just minutes from the Beach, Palm City has a large boating community. There are several marinas on the St Lucie River, which leads directly to the Intercoastal Waterway, the St Lucie Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean.

Stuart Florida, which is right next to Palm City is the home of several boat manufacturers and other marine related businesses. The area is famous for offshore fishing and is known as the Sailfish Capitol of the World.


Parks

Jock Leighton Park is located a little over 1 mile North on Mapp Road with fields for football, soccer and lacrosse. There is also a playground and skate board park.

Shopping

There is a Publix shopping center about 1.5 miles from Orchid bay where you will find a Publix Grocery Store, a few restaurants, and some other stores.

Services

A new fire station (built in 2005) is about 2 miles from Orchid bay and there is a post office about 1.5 miles away.
